Born January 14, 1948, Glenn is the youngest of four children of Isaac Harrell and Amie Mae Crowson, who had migrated to California from Oklahoma in the late 1930s. Isaac Harrell worked as a tractor mechanic at George M. Bell Tractors/Jordan Implement in Brawley. Glenn grew up with three older sisters, Doris, Harrelene, and Betty.
Crowson married Linda S. Thompson in 1970. They met while Glenn was a police officer with the City of Brawley and Linda was a third grade school teacher at Phil Swing Elementary School. They had three children while living in Brawley: Rachel (now living in Sioux Falls, South Dakota), Benjamin (Palm Springs, California), and Gretchen (San Diego, California). They have three grandchildren, Samantha and Jenny Kloos, and Giada and Francesca Spaniol.
Glenn and Linda currently reside in Desert Hot Springs, CA.
